2. Information We Collect

The Service collects the following types of information:

• User Input and Generated Content (text submitted for translation)
• Usage Data (features used, frequency, errors)
• Technical Information (IP address, browser type, device information)
• Cookies and Similar Technologies (session management, analytics)
• Payment Information (processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record)

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• Providing, operating, and improving the Service
• Generating translation outputs via third-party AI APIs
• User account management and authentication
• Billing and subscription management
• Analytics and service improvement
• Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance
• Communications regarding the Service

4. Third-Party AI Processors

LangPont uses third-party AI service providers to generate translation outputs, including OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), and Anthropic (Claude). Your input text is transmitted to these providers solely to generate outputs. These third-party providers act as data processors under applicable data protection laws. Based on our current API agreements, these providers do not use your data to train their models. Each provider maintains their own privacy and security practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

We may share data with:

• Service providers (AI, cloud infrastructure, payment processing)
• Legal authorities when required by law
• Successors in case of merger or acquisition

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and Japan. For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

7. Data Retention

We retain data as follows:

• Account information: for the duration of your account, plus 30 days after deletion
• Translation history: 30 days (Free plan) / 90 days (Pro plan)
• Payment records: as required by applicable law (typically 7 years)

Retention periods may be updated as the Service evolves. We may anonymize or delete data when it is no longer necessary.

8. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures including access controls, encryption, and security monitoring. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure: request deletion of your data
• Restriction: request limitation of processing
• Portability: receive your data in a structured format
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Complaint: lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. Categories of personal information collected: identifiers (email), internet activity, user-generated content. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age (under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Cookies

We use cookies solely for session management and basic analytics. You may control cookie settings through your browser settings.

12. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or notice within the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
